On a personal level, I am very excited to learn that Kiva is BMUN 57's charitable cause. I think they are an amazing organization that has one of the most innovative and friendly plans that the world has to offer. Having a family member who runs a small business, I can personally relate to the problems that come along with a business that cannot quite get off the ground. Kiva is a very interesting group that allows a donor to donate funds to help small business owners everywhere. I think that it is a great idea, bringing out the kindness in others, while still helping businesses compete in the economy. I participated in a large Kiva donation last year at Georgetown's NAIMUN and am quite interested in donating this year as well. I just wish I had more money to donate. Can't wait for the conference.

I just wanted to bring several articles to your attention...

http://www.sustainableliving.com.au/getinvolved/stories
An initiative by the FBE UNSW with UNEP, the Sustainable Living Challenge is a national schools program that allows teachers to be connected to an eNetwork, an online community where tips, advice, and updates are regularly shared.

http://eartheasy.com/live_menu.htm
I love this website -- it offers dozens of sustainable living tips, for example:
1. http://eartheasy.com/live_recycling.htm
2. http://eartheasy.com/live_water_saving.htm

I hope you find the articles interesting.

Hello Marie,
I decided to come and check out your sustainability blog after after your post on the CSD blog.
I just want to say, I've found your posts enlightening; I enjoy reading your posts. :)

In regards to your call for suggestions, I do have one tip of advice. As a delegate, I, like many other delegates, pass dozens of notes during committee to keep updated on our working papers. Usually, I cut up scratch paper into squares before the conference to use. I've noticed, however, that many delegates will use up a full sheet of paper for a one-line note, throwing the paper afterward, while some choose to use colored index cards and post-its. I find this practice wasteful, and I was hoping perhaps you could encourage delegates to cut back on the wasteful paper use when note-passing?
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email me.

Looking forward to seeing you in committee in several weeks,
Tiffany [China]
